Bamboo is certainly (back) in style right now, but it's truly quite timeless. If you use a lot of it in one space, it can read as a very specific style - but if you incorporate just a piece or two here and there, it serves as just a touch of texture and interest on an otherwise clean-lined piece. I love these particular pieces for just that purpose.

They look beautiful grouped together, flanking other decorative items, as vases (sans lids), or - if you don't want to go "full blue-and-white" - just as a classic touch here and there.

Blue and white plates and platters are especially great because they're equally useful for their intended purpose (serving food!) and decorating.
