Winter Skincare Favorites
Tried-and-true favorites that work well on my very picky skin:
1. A great cleansing “first pass" at removing makeup and impurities, but doesn't strip skin of natural oils.
2. Eye cream that truly helps plump and moisturize the under/outer-eye area. Thick texture that's better for bedtime - not under makeup.
3. Exfoliating glycolic acid pads. My skin LOVES glycolic acid (took me years to pinpoint!), so I use 20% strength. For me, it’s the absolute best ingredient for preventing/treating breakouts.
4. Very mild toner that leaves your face feeling fresh, clean, and awake. I would never skip washing my face at night, but would never fully wash it in the morning, because it would be overkill (drying/stripping) for my skin. This is the perfect compromise. Says it’s “makeup removing," but I don’t trust it for that (more on that in a moment...).
5. Multipurpose serum that’s my favorite skincare product of all time. I've tried many fancy/prescription retinol products, and I could never fully avoid the dryness/peeling. This serum has all the anti-aging and anti-blemish benefits of retinol, but is somehow moisturizing too.
6. The best truly moisturizing product that does NOT cause breakouts. Really versatile too...use a thin layer as a moisturizer, or slather it on and sleep in it as a deep-moisture mask.

7. Good ol’ Vaseline works better than any other product on dry skin around my lips - and I have tried everything. I prefer the tube container to avoid bacteria.
8. Proper makeup remover for your eye area and entire face. For me, removing foundation with an actual makeup remover (not just cleanser/toner) is key for preventing clogged pores. This really seems to remove only makeup - not the natural oils your skin needs.
9. Hand cream that’s so moisturizing, but doesn't leave the slightest greasy residue. Once it absorbs (quickly), your hands still feel clean.
10. Toner that I use the same way as #4, but reach for more often if my skin has any irritation/inflammation. “Calming,” as it claims.
11. Use to apply any liquid products - and in lieu of any kind of physical exfoliator (scrub). Just push a little harder when you need more exfoliation.
